Wednesday, February 12 from 1 – 4 p.m. is Faculty Development Day. This is a concentrated block of time for instructors to join together, discuss teaching, and develop their skills. Multiple offerings will be scheduled at the same time to provide as many opportunities for participation as possible. All are encouraged to attend! Faculty Development Day is co-sponsored by the Faculty Resource Center and the Instructional Design Center (IDC). However, other groups on campus are encouraged to offer development opportunities on this day as well!
Please be sure to continue to check out this page for more updates as the date approaches!
This workshop will give participants the opportunity to explore how to use Canvas while building their courses within the system. We will cover options for account and course-level settings, structuring a course with Modules and Pages, uploading and importing content, creating assignments, grading student work, and providing feedback. Participants will be able to work on their own courses as the presenter leads through examples. IDC staff and student aides will be on hand to assist individuals each step of the way.
Pedagogy Connection: Canvas will become Ramapo’s Learning Management System over the course of this year. This workshop guides instructors on how to use Canvas as a tool for delivering and managing assignments, facilitating group work, and enhancing the student experience in the classroom.
