9am-10am: Canvas: Getting Started

Dive into Canvas essentials while we explore course navigation, modules, pages, discussions and announcements. Perfect for new faculty or anyone needing a quick refresher!

10am-11am: Canvas: Assignments & Gradebook

Learn how to set up assignments, create assignment groups, and optimize your gradebook. We’ll also tackle common questions and troubleshooting with your gradebook.

11am-12pm: Canvas: Templates

Learn how to enhance your course content using our new Canvas templates. Students will love this clean, modern and easy-to-navigate version of your course. We’ll discuss best practices, including how these templates can standardize user experience for students.

We have enjoyed an exciting first year with our Kahoot! campus license, and we’re eager to take it even further in our second year! Join us for a refresher on how to use Kahoot! and hear about some exciting updates to this interactive tool.

9am-10am: How to Talk With Students About AI

With the emergence of generative AI in everyday life, it is important to start the semester with a conversation with students about AI, when it is permissible, and what counts as academic misconduct. This workshop provides resources and strategies for getting the conversation started.

10am-11am: AI-Resistant and AI-Assisted Assignments

This workshop is focused on two different approaches to handling AI in the classroom: 1) AI-resistant assignments that diminish the effectiveness of AI, and 2) AI-assisted assignments that harness the power of AI. This workshop covers both methods and introduces new assignment models updated for the age of AI.

11am-12pm: AI Self-paced Course / Virtual Hub

AI has been a hot topic for the last year or two, and we want to make sure you feel empowered to collaborate with it in your classroom. We’ve designed a self-paced online course that walks you through the basics and showcases work submitted by Ramapo faculty. We will review the course and discuss how to integrate AI tools into your classroom.
