The event was held at the Bohemian National Hall, New York City in the presence of Czech Prime Minister Jan Fischer on April 11, 2010 and was attended by more than 350 guests, including 27 U.N. ambassadors. Robert Convery's "Terezin Cantata" is the setting to music of a series of nine poems written by children from Terezin Ghetto/Concentration Camp who later were murdered in the Nazi killing centers of the East.

Center Includes Ramapo Singers

Remembrance and Awareness Event
The Cantanova Singers and the Ramapo Chorale, under the direction of Professor Lisa Lutter (I.), after participating in the Remembrance and Awareness commemoration at the Times Center in New York City. Held on the 70th anniversary of Kristallnacht (November 9, 1938), the pogrom in Germany that signaled a violent turn in the Third Reich's persecution of the Jews, the event brought together representatives from the international and faith communities in New York to renew their pledge to prevent a tragedy similar to the Holocaust from occurring again. The Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Ramapo College was one of the program's co-sponsors.
