TEACHERS’ WORKSHOP WILL FOCUS ON RETURN TO LIFE AFTER THE HOLOCAUST

May 13, 2015 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

On May 13, 2015, the Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies will be hosting an Echoes and Reflections training program for middle and high school teachers in cooperation with the Anti-Defamation League and the New Jersey State Commission on Holocaust Education. It is free-of-charge. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.

This professional learning program will provide teachers with an understanding of the political, legal, social, and emotional status of the Jewish survivors through primary sources and visual history testimony from Holocaust survivors and liberators.

Brought to you by the Anti-Defamation League, USC Shoah Foundation, and Yad Vashem, Echoes and Reflections is a multimedia program that provides U.S. secondary educators with professional development and print and online resources to teach about the Holocaust in today’s classrooms. An interactive session with a Holocaust survivor will provide a first-hand account of life after liberation.

In attending the training you will receive:

  1. A complimentary copy of the Echoes and Reflections Teacher’s Resource Guide;
  2. The opportunity to explore effective strategies for teaching the Holocaust to today’s students;
  3. Six hours Certificate Renewal credits.
