Courses

Any course in the liberal arts, broadly understood, may be counted into the Liberal Studies major. For example, any of the courses offered by the School of Humanities and Global Studies would be eligible (including Anthropology, American Studies, History, International Studies, Literature, Philosophy, Political Science, or World Languages) – so long as the courses selected form a cogent learning track and meet approval.

All Liberal Studies majors will decide their own tracks. Examples of tracks can include:

  • History of Ideas
  • Italian Studies
  • Peace Studies
  • Philosophy and Religious Studies

Courses that are oriented towards professional studies are not eligible to count into the Liberal Studies major.
