Ira Spar, Professor of History and Ancient Studies, will be presenting excerpts from his research and writings: “Discovering the Past: Cuneiform Texts in The Metropolitan Museum of Art.” A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation.

Dr. Istvan Deák, Seth Low Professor Emeritus at Columbia University, will discuss “Collaboration, Resistance and Retribution” on Monday, October 19 at 1 p.m. in the Alumni Lounges.
Cuban writer, María Elena Llana, will present in the Hispanic Caribbean Literature class. Llana is a journalist and short story writer. Her presentation will be in Spanish.
