KUNIKO YAMAMOTO – KOTO GREEN TEA CEREMONY

[Berrie Center] On Thursday, March 2 at 5 p.m., The Berrie Center will feature Kuniko Yamamoto with a Koto Green Tea Ceremony. For more than 1,000 years, monks and noblemen in Japan have been drinking green tea. Acclaimed musician, storyteller and artist Kuniko Yamamoto, from Osaka, Japan, presents an aesthetic ceremony of drinking green tea. Kuniko will share stories of Zen and Samurai and perform the music of Koto, a 13-string Japanese zitar. Guests will take part in the ceremony, see beautiful projected images from the Asian based gallery exhibitions upstairs in the Kresge and Pascal galleries, and drink a cup of beloved green tea.
