 SPRING 2022 OPERATIONS PLAN

Ramapo

Spring 2022 Operational Plans

Dear Students,
We hope by now you are feeling more settled into your academic routines and are enjoying your fall semester with Ramapo College.
We write to you with important information regarding Spring 2022 Instruction, COVID-19 Vaccination Compliance, and On-Campus housing.
Over 80% of you are enrolled in at least one course with an on-campus presence this semester, and we hope you are reinvigorated by Ramapo’s return to campus, by having the opportunity to connect with your faculty, administrators, and peers in person, and by engaging in the many facets of student life occurring on campus this fall.
We also want to thank all of you for your compliance and commitment to keeping our campus safe through abiding by the many policies outlined in our Student Code for Healthy Living and Learning. As President Jebb shared in her State of the College Address last week, while we have had confirmed cases of COVID-19 among our students and employees,  we are pleased that none of the cases thus far this term has revealed transmission occurring within our classrooms, labs, or other learning spaces. This means our preventative efforts and your individual compliance with those efforts are working.
With this in mind, we want to share important operational updates and deadlines for the Spring 2022 semester that reflect our institutional priorities of health and safety and also further our efforts to deliver the engaged and vibrant campus community you all want and deserve.
Spring 2022 Instruction Plans and COVID-19 Vaccine Compliance Policy
As we look ahead to the second half of the academic year, you can expect the Spring 2022 course schedule to be live and viewable in Web Self-Service beginning on October 14th.
You will notice that planning for the spring will continue transitioning Ramapo back closer to our pre-pandemic course schedule and course delivery modes. Specifically, we will offer three (3) distinct course delivery modes in Spring 2022:  in-person, hybrid, and online.
Furthermore, the majority of courses will be delivered in-person or hybrid, which means most students should expect the courses they take will hold face-to-face class meetings on campus. (Please note that while hybrid courses both meet in person and include assigned asynchronous learning experiences, online courses consist solely of asynchronous learning experiences. In addition, we expect less than 10% of all Spring 2022 courses to be offered online/not require an on-campus presence.)
Effective this spring, in order to register for in-person or hybrid courses, both of which include a required on-campus presence, students must be compliant with the College’s COVID-19 vaccine policy or they will be prevented from registering from all but online courses when registration windows open on November 8th.
We are pleased to share that over 85% of our student body is already compliant with our COVID-19 vaccine policy and will be able to register for any course they would like without delay.
The College will continue its partnership with Bergen New Bridge Medical Center to host vaccine clinics on our campus. Currently, there are a few vaccine clinic dates scheduled for October and more dates may be added, so we encourage you to visit our vaccine clinic website to learn more or schedule an appointment.
Please be aware that time is of the essence, as you must be fully vaccinated (i.e., receive both doses of Pfizer or Moderna, which takes three to four weeks, or only one dose of Johnson & Johnson) before you can register for in-person or hybrid Spring 2022 courses, and Spring 2022 early registration opens on November 8th.
On-Campus Housing
For students who currently live on campus, you must complete the Spring Intent Process to secure your residence hall room for the Spring 2022 semester. Eligible students will be sent a unique link to their Ramapo email address on October 14, 2021. All students must complete this process, including those who are graduating in December 2021, Studying Abroad for Spring 2022, participating in National Student Exchange for Spring 2022, or Withdrawing/Transferring for Spring 2022. The Spring Intent Process will open on October 14th and will be due by October 21, 2021.
If you are currently not living on campus but, after reviewing the Spring 2022 course schedule, determine you would like to live on campus for the spring semester, you must complete a Commuter Housing Application.  These applications will open on November 8th to coincide with the first day of registration and are due by November 30, 2021.
While we are only one month into the Fall 2021 semester, we know we are also only one month away from Spring 2022 registration and want you to have all of this information now to help you plan accordingly.
Once the Spring 2022 course schedule goes live/is viewable in Web Self-Service on October 14th, we encourage you to meet with your academic advisor to discuss your spring plans.
Again, we thank you for your continued adherence to our policies, which prioritize your health and safety, while we work to respond to your expressed interest in having an increased in-person, on-campus experience.
Various offices across the Divisions of Academic Affairs and Enrollment Management and Student Affairs are here to support you this semester and as you plan for the spring semester, so please do not hesitate to contact our staff or faculty should you have questions.
You are doing a great job and we look forward to supporting your continued success!
Best,
