Proposal Development and Submission

Capital Campaign

Proposal Development

To provide the highest quality of service, the Office of Grants and Sponsored Programs requests that you use the grant initiation form to provide information on the grant you intend to submit. This information will be used to verify the College’s eligibility to apply for this grant and ensure there are no conflicts of interest or competing funding requests.  For external funding, please submit a completed grant initiation form and a brief description of the proposed project to grantsdesk@ramapo.edu at least one month prior to initiating efforts to obtain funding.

Once you are approved to pursue the funding opportunity, this Office will work with you to finalize your proposal. Along with your completed proposal documents, please complete the grant submission approval form and submit it to grantsdesk@ramapo.edu. A budget template form is available for your use, although most funding agencies have a specific budget format of their own.

For final administrative approval, all documents are to be submitted to the Office of Grants and Sponsored Programs at least 7 working days before the agency deadline. Proposals to external funding agencies will not be submitted without appropriate institutional approvals.

Resources

The staff in the Office of Grants and Sponsored Programs are here to help with all stages of the grants life cycle, including grant writing, budget development, proposal submission, and award management. There are several online resources that you might also find helpful, including:

Several funding agencies make example proposals available to the public on their websites. If not, you can reach out directly to awardees to ask for a copy of their grant, or submit a request to the funding agency via the Freedom of Information Act Office to retrieve a copy of the awarded grant.

For your convenience, we have curated a few examples of grant narratives and LOIs, along with their funding announcement.

Proposal Submission

The Office of Grants and Sponsored Programs will submit your proposal and associated documents. We will also ensure that it has been received by the sponsor. All submission documents, along with award notifications, project reports, budget justification approvals, and award management documentation, will be curated by this Office.
