Douglas Holden MD

Douglas Holden MD, Garden State Orthopedics

Doug is an MD and an orthopedist with Garden State Orthopedics as well as managing partner of the practice.  He earned his BS from the University of Rochester, his DDS from Columbia University College of Dental and Oral Surgery, his MD from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and both and his Masters in Health Care Management and his MBA from the University of Rochester’s Simon School of Business.  Major Douglas Holden, MD deployed for two tours in the Iraq War where he received military awards for his skills and was notable in the life-saving procedures performed on critically injured soldiers under the most austere conditions.

Doug volunteers as a Judge at the Science Expo for Bergen County Academies, mentors rising medical professionals, lectures on the opioid addiction throughout the community, serves on the Safety and Opioid Committees at Valley Hospital and sits on the Municipal Committee and Planning Board in his local government of Saddle River.

Doug and his wife Jean have established several scholarships at their alma maters.  In 2021, they established the Holden Family Scholarship at Ramapo College to benefit students who affiliate with the Office of Specialized Services.  The Holden’s’ son, Austin, graduated from Ramapo this past May with a B.A in digital filmmaking.  The Holden’s have two other children, Alexandra and Samantha.  The family lives in Saddle River.
