The College’s Bias Incident Response Policy serves to address bias incidents that are directed to students, faculty, staff and visitors at Ramapo College of New Jersey based on their membership in a protected category.
A Bias Incident is any action directed toward an individual or group based on the individual or group’s actual or perceived race, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, age, sexual orientation, sex, gender identity or expression, disability, marital status, civil union and/or domestic partnership status. Some examples include the following: racial jokes, homophobic slurs, defacing property with zenophobic images, sending emails with sexist content.
The bias incident policy applies to actions that occur at the College, including e-mail communications sent or received, and any action that occurs at a location that can be reasonably regarded as an extension of the College (i.e., any field location, on-line course, any off-site college-related social function, or event).
To report an incident of Bias, please complete the fields below, providing as much detailed information as possible. Please note that Bias Complaint Form submissions are reviewed during business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Therefore, submissions sent after College business hours, or on the weekends or holidays, will be reviewed and responded to on the next business day.
As always, if you believe a student, staff or visitor is in imminent danger, please contact the Office of Public Safety immediately at (201) 684-6666.
