Lauren Barca (Pronouns: she/her/hers) holds a Bachelors of Social Work from Ramapo College of New Jersey. She is currently a student at the University of Kentucky’s Master’s in Social Work program with a concentration in Clinical Social Work.
Lauren is currently interning with the ENHANCE Program for her second year. She has also interned for Special Dragons, a Karate program for children with special needs, and now remains with them as a volunteer. Prior to working with children and young adults with ASD or special needs, she worked with a reentry program called Transition Professionals, which assisted those reintegrating back into society from jails and institutions.
After completing her Master’s in Social work, Lauren wants to pursue her License for Clinical Social Work. Her interests include counseling or working with individuals who are considered on the spectrum and increasing preventative aftercare treatment for substance/alcohol use and mental disorders. Lauren also hopes to eventually become certified in Equine/Animal-assisted therapy and eventually own an animal rescue.
Lauren loves spending time with her son, friends, and family (including her bunny, guinea pig, and cat); exercise and being outdoors; reading her favorite author (Julia Quinn); and, traveling.
