Arching Ceremony and Post-Arching Reception: May 23, 2024

Congratulations, Class of 2024!

The Arching Ceremony will be held outdoors today and the Post-Arching Reception will move to the Bradley Center Arena and Cherry Lane.

ARCHING CEREMONY 

• Graduates and guests should arrive starting at 3:00 pm and can gather with other graduates and faculty in the Grove.
• Graduate Line Up will occur outside at 4:15 pm and the processional will begin at 4:30 pm. Guests will also gather  outside.
• Upon arrival to campus, graduates and their two guests should check in at an information booth to obtain their food vouchers and other relevant information.

POST-ARCHING RECEPTION

• The Post-Arching Reception will begin immediately after the Arching Ceremony.
• The Reception features food trucks, a beverage truck, a live band, and other activities. It will take place in and around the Bradley Center Arena.
  • Food and beverage trucks will be arranged along Cherry Lane. Each registered graduate and up to two guests per graduate will be able to use their vouchers (worth $8) toward FOOD purchases. Additional food items and beverages (ID required) will be available for purchase.
  • Food vouchers for faculty and staff will be available on Cherry Lane starting at approximately 5:30pm.
  • Food and drink may be enjoyed outside (in designated areas) and in the Bradley Center.
  • A live band will perform on the Arena floor!

It’s a Go: Rain Plan 1

If it is raining, but not raining heavily and not thunderstorming, the Arching Ceremony will still take place outside but the Post-Arching Reception will largely move to the Bradley Center and feature indoor and outdoor activities.

Contingent on Mother Nature: Rain Plan 2

If the rain is too heavy, lightning or thunderstorms are occurring or are expected, or there are severe winds, both the Arching Ceremony and Post-Arching Reception will move indoors.

Regardless of the plan we implement, please heed the following:

1. We will communicate as early as possible on May 23.
2. Graduates and faculty/staff will still wear their caps and gowns. Ponchos will be available for graduates.
3. Guests should bring their own rain gear/umbrellas.
4. Rain or shine, the Arching Ceremony will be livestreamed at ramapo.edu/commencement.
5. The RCNJ Class of 2024 is awesome!
