Join the Civic and Community Engagement Center in observing Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week from November 13th to November 17th.
Below is the program schedule. You can register for all these events on our archway page
Kick off Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week with the Civic & Community Engagement Center! Compete with your friends in a Kahoot testing your knowledge of world hunger facts and myths. First place will receive a prize! Register for the event on Archway!
Location: J Lee’s from 7 – 9 PM
Debrief with the Andrew Goodman Team about the election that just passed! Learn more about how to get involved with future local elections, and the myths of “off-years”. Register for the event on Archway!
Location: The Civic and Community Engagement Center (SC 213) from 1-2 PM
If you think you may be eligible for supplemental nutrition assistance under SNAP, come down to the food pantry to learn more. Eligible individuals will be assisted to enroll in the program. If you have any questions or concerns, please email wecare@ramapo.edu. Register for the event on Archway!
Location: The Food Pantry (ASB 130) from 2-3 PM
Continue learning about Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week with the Civic & Community Engagement Center’s documentary showing. Hungry to Learn documents the reality of food insecurity on college campuses, as well as the other challenges students face. Register for the event on Archway!
Location: Alumni Lounge SC-158 from 7-8:30 PM
Nearly 815 million people suffer from chronic hunger worldwide, and yet there is enough food on the planet to feed everyone. Come explore some of the perspectives of those in poverty first-hand in our Hunger Banquet simulation. Whether you are placed in the high, middle, or low-income hand, the experience is one you’ll never forget. Where will you sit? Register for the event on Archway!
Location: Alumni Lounges from 4 – 6 PM
Closeout Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week by donating to the Civic & Community Engagement Center’s food drive. The food pantry is now running critically low on many resources such as toilet paper, pasta, rice, soup, and canned vegetables. You can bring any donations to either the Center for Student Involvement or the alumni lounges at 1 p.m. If you have any questions or concerns or want to learn how to donate more, please email wecare@ramapo.edu.
