Ramapo College of New Jersey offers courses leading to a Master of Science in Nursing. There are three tracks:
ln addition, a post-masters program is offered, designed for those nurses holding a masters degree in nursing who are interested in pursuing nursing education.
The Program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) 3343 Peachtree Rd NE, Suite 850, Atlanta, GA 30326.
Criteria for admission to the degree program include graduation from an approved nursing bachelor degree program or completion of the Transition Program for applicants with non-nursing baccalaureate degrees, an undergraduate cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (4.0 scale) for all nursing courses and full-time experience as a practicing registered professional nurse.
Outcome 1: Knowledge – Draws on extant literature and knowledge to design and implement evidence based teaching/learning and evaluation practices to support global nursing education.
Outcome 2: Evidence Based Research and Practice – Contributes to the development of the science of nursing education through the critique, utilization, dissemination of current evidence and the conduct of research.
Outcome 3: Information Management – Develop and use information and communication technologies to enter, retrieve, and evaluate data appropriate for the delivery and evaluation of nursing education.
Outcome 4: Professionalism –
Outcome 5: Social Advocacy – Utilize knowledge about the educational environment within they which they practice and recognize how the political, institutional, social and economic forces impact the global educator role.
Outcome 6: Leadership – Provides leadership in the parent institution as well as in the nursing program to enhance visibility of nursing and its contribution to the global academic community.
Outcome 7: Role Function – Participates in interdisciplinary efforts to address health care needs locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.

Outcome 2: Evidence Based Research and Practice – Integrate principles of evidence based practice and current research in the design and implementation of nursing and health care delivery programs.
Outcome 3: Information Management – Advocate for and use information and communication technologies to enter, retrieve, and evaluate data appropriate for the delivery and evaluation of nursing care delivery.
Outcome 4: Professionalism –
Outcome 5: Social Advocacy – Influence the health policy making process through the involvement and leadership of nurses having diverse perspectives.
Outcome 6: Leadership – Lead in a manner that recognizes the cultural and spiritual context of the health care community and environment.
Outcome 7: Role Function – Integrate advanced core competencies and clinical expertise to evaluate and continually improve nursing care delivery systems.

Outcome 6: Leadership – Assumes leadership to foster collaboration with multiple stakeholders (patients, community and interprofessional groups) to facilitate the development, implementation and evaluation of care provided in complex systems.

There is a Post Masters Program designed for those nurses holding a Masters Degree in Nursing and who are interested in pursuing Nursing Education.
