A trio of Brazilian guitarists who are touring the East Coast will stop at Ramapo for a day of performance-demonstrations, explanations, and discussion in three of Ramapo’s music courses. These superb professional guitarists are Ricardo Peixoto and, from Brazil, Roserio Souza and Edinho Gerber, who perform together regularly at “Duo Violao Brasil” (Guitar Duo Brazil).

EverJazz and Latin Cool Records Recording Artist

Russ DeFilippis, Guitarist, Recording Artist and assistant/associate of internationally acclaimed guitarist/vocalist, George Benson (“Breezin,” “This Masquerade,” “Give Me the Night,” and numerous other hits) will present a guitar master class that is also applicable and beneficial to all instrumentalists (vocalists included), song writers and composers.

Russ will focus his discussion on harmonic progression, chord substitution and melodic development through improvisation.

He is a graduate of the esteemed Berklee College of Music, where he also served on the faculty. Additionally, he studied with two celebrated instructors: Charles Benacos and Dennis Sandole. Several of his artist associations and performances include George Benson, Bob Hope, Dick Clark, Chuck Berry, The Drifters and numerous other acts.

Russ’ recent CD, “The Sorcerer’s Accomplice,” on EverJazz Records was described by George Benson as “Artistry and Taste Combined.”
