Degree Completion Program Admitted Student Checklist


1. Submit Your Enrollment Deposit

To reserve a place in the fall class, you must submit your deposit. You may submit your deposit electronically or by postal mail.

If you wish to submit your deposit electronically, please follow these steps: 

  1. Log in to your application https://apply.ramapo.edu/apply/status
  2. View your acceptance letter
  3. Return to your status page and click on “Reply to Offer of Admission”
  4. Choose the appropriate option
  5. Click the Submit Payment button and enter the appropriate payment information

If you wish to submit your deposit by postal mail, simply return the Acceptance Card found in your admission packet to the Office of Admissions as soon as possible. Include a check or money order for $300 if you will be commuting.  

The deposit is credited toward your first semester charges.

2. Activate Your Ramapo College Student Account

All students must set up their Ramapo Web Self Service and email account in order to register, receive mailings and announcements, and to access their bill. Please visit https://password.ramapo.edu/ and click on “Activate Account” to set up your account.  Your student R number can be found in your acceptance letter.

3. New Student Orientation

New Degree Completion Program students must first complete their Virtual New Student Modules, available after November 1st. Once the modules are completed, students will meet virtually with the DCP Program Director for registration and advisement.

4. Registration and Advisement

All new Degree Completion Program students enrolled in the Accelerated Social Science or Accelerated Contemporary Arts: Professional Communication majors will receive registration advising from the DCP Program Director. Adult students enrolled in majors other than these two accelerated majors should visit the Transfer Student New Student Experience page for more information: https://www.ramapo.edu/orientation/transfer/

5. Immunization Paperwork

All adult students under the age of 31 are required to complete and submit the RCNJ Immunization Packet.  For more information and to access these forms, please visit www.ramapo.edu/health/immunization-info/. Please submit all required immunization information to the Health Services Office promptly. If you have additional questions, please contact Health Services at 201-684-7536 or immunize@ramapo.edu.

6. Financial Aid

Students interested in receiving a financial aid package must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa. Interested students are encouraged to fill out the FAFSA promptly.  More information regarding the FASFA and financial aid is posted at www.ramapo.edu/finaid/. Please contact the Financial Aid Office at (201) 684-7549 or finaid@ramapo.edu with any questions.

7. Tuition Payment Plans

Tuition payment plans are available for the fall, spring and summer semesters. Visit www.ramapo.edu/student-accounts/options-policies/ for more information. Please contact the Office of Student Accounts with any questions about payment plans: studentaccts@ramapo.edu or (201) 684-7495.

8. Transcripts

Send your final official transcript(s) from any previous college or university indicating final credits completed and/or graduation. Documents should be mailed to: The Office of Admissions, Ramapo College of New Jersey, 505 Ramapo Valley Road, Mahwah, NJ 07430.  E-transcripts should be sent to admissions@ramapo.edu.

9. Testing and Placement

Students who have not completed their Critical Reading and Writing or Quantitative Reasoning general education requirements through transfer credits may need a placement test in order to determine next steps for fulfilling either of these requirements. Students who have earned an AS or AA from a New Jersey community college have completed all of their general education requirements and do not need placement tests.
